Graphics & Image Manipulation

Computer graphics... that's what they used to call it. Image manipulation is probably the best term to use now.

The very first computer graphics I encountered were raster-based, the screen was effectively made up of tiles that were each 8 by 8 pixels square. Then there was the Nova and Super Nova, I think these boasted a resolution of 640 x 480 (maybe it was 720 x 576) ... you could even capture video images for photorealistic manipulations.

I have been using Photoshop since about V3 I think, it really is an awesome piece of software. The use of layers and layer masks make it very intuitive for someone familiar with rostrum camera techniques.

Virtually every piece of work produced by Corporate Communications requires graphics of some sort or other, on rare occasions I will even get coloured pencils out.
